About the Team OpenAI’s mission is to ensure that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity. The Identity team builds the foundational systems that enable people, organizations, devices, and agents to securely access OpenAI products. The team works across consumer and enterprise experiences, including account structures, sign-in, authentication, recovery, privacy, permissions, administration, and agent identity. As AI systems become increasingly capable of acting on behalf of people and organizations, we are defining new models for authorization and trust across human-to-agent and agent-to-agent interactions. About the Role In this role, you’ll lead design for foundational identity experiences across OpenAI’s products. You’ll make permissions, access, risk, and administration feel clear, safe, and genuinely usable—whether someone is securing a personal account, administering access across an enterprise, signing in to another product with ChatGPT, or authorizing an agent to perform sensitive work. Your work will span established identity challenges and emerging interaction models without established design conventions. You’ll help define how users understand what an agent can access, who or what it is acting on behalf of, and when confirmation or stronger authentication should appear. Working closely with product, engineering, security, privacy, and design, you’ll translate complex policies and technical systems into coherent, trustworthy experiences. This role is based in our San Francisco HQ. We offer relocation assistance to new employees. In this role, you will: Lead the design direction for identity, account security, permissions, and administrative experiences across OpenAI’s consumer and enterprise products. Design and ship high-quality experiences spanning sign-in, authentication, account recovery, device accounts, privacy, access controls, governance, and remediation. Define mental models and interaction patterns for human-to-agent and agent-to-agent identity, authorization, and trust. Help users understand what people, systems, and agents can access or do on their behalf. Design security checks and confirmation flows that protect sensitive actions while minimizing unnecessary friction. Partner closely with product management, engineering, security, privacy, and design peers to shape strategy, roadmap, and execution. Navigate complex roles, policies, dependencies, and product states to create systems that remain coherent as they scale. Contribute to and evolve the design systems and patterns used across OpenAI’s identity experiences. You might thrive in this role if you: Are a systems-oriented product thinker who can reason across complex states, dependencies, policies, and user types. Have designed role-based access or permissions for organizations with multiple teams, resources, or levels of administration. Understand how to balance security, usability, and business needs in high-stakes workflows. Have strong UX/UI and interaction design skills, with a high bar for contemporary craft, clarity, and quality. Can turn complicated technical capabilities and policies into mental models that users can understand and trust. Are comfortable shaping direction when both the underlying technology and established user expectations are evolving. Have experience with enterprise, platform, desktop, infrastructure, or similarly complex product environments. Are excited to establish new conventions for identity and access in a world where AI agents increasingly act on behalf of people and organizations. Lead the portfolio across launches and sustained adoption: Set priorities for major product moments while ensuring that customer education, activation, recurring usage, and ongoing demand do not disappear between launches. Translate product capabilities into useful customer workflows: Turn advances across web, desktop, mobile, connected tools, and AI-assisted work into concrete examples, demos, stories, and programs that show how people complete real work. Drive adoption from first useful task to team-wide usage: Partner with Product, Growth, Lifecycle, Customer Education, and Sales to improve discovery, activation, repeat workflows, team adoption, and expansion. Shape the product through customer and market insight: Bring customer research, usage data, field feedback, competitive intelligence, and observed workflow barriers into product, packaging, and go-to-market decisions. Build enterprise confidence and field readiness: Work with the administrator and governance PMM, buyer-focused marketers, and customer-facing teams to connect user value with deployment requirements, customer proof, executive buy-in, and a credible enterprise story. Lead cross-functional decisions and raise the quality bar: Align Product, Engineering, Growth, Creative, Comms, Sales, and Marketing around shared priorities; coach product marketers; and make clear choices about what matters most. Measure whether the work is changing customer behavior: Define success using meaningful indicators such as qualified adoption, activation, repeat usage, retention, team penetration, customer preference, and business impact. You might thrive in this role if you have: 12+ years of experience in product marketing, product strategy, or closely related go-to-market leadership roles, including ownership of a complex software, platform, or AI product. A strong track record of defining product and category strategy, not just executing launches or producing marketing assets. Experience bringing products to market across both self-serve and enterprise motions, with an understanding of how individual usage grows into team adoption and organizational standardization. Exceptional positioning, writing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to make sophisticated technology concrete and relevant to professional users and executive buyers. Demonstrated success working closely with Product and Engineering to shape priorities, clarify tradeoffs, and turn customer insight into better product and go-to-market decisions. Experience leading through influence, developing other product marketers, and earning trust with senior cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-moving environment. Strong analytical judgment and experience connecting product marketing programs to adoption, retention, expansion, or other meaningful business outcomes. A practical understanding of how knowledge workers use AI across functions such as operations, finance, marketing, sales, legal, or strategy. High standards for craft, intellectual honesty, customer empathy, and clear communication in environments where products and market conditions change quickly. Genuine curiosity about AI and hands-on experience using modern AI products to improve how work gets done. Workplace & Location This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. Occasional travel will be required. About the Team The B2B Marketing team contributes to OpenAI's broader mission of ensuring responsible and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence. We are responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and usage for OpenAI's products and platform. We take a data-driven approach to understand our customers' needs and challenges, ensuring that their voices are reflected in product development and messaging. We then partner closely with Product, Engineering, Growth, Sales, Research, Comms, and Design teams to create a cohesive customer experience across all our channels. About the Role We're looking for an enterprise Product Marketing Manager to own the administrator and governance experience across ChatGPT Work and Codex. IT administrators, security teams, and deployment owners are often the difference between an AI product being available and an organization actually putting it to work. This role will define how OpenAI earns the trust of the people responsible for approving, deploying, managing, and expanding AI inside their organizations. You will translate a fast-moving set of enterprise capabilities into a clear, practical story covering setup, access, controls, governance, security, usage, and value. You will own the administrator audience as a dedicated product marketing discipline, partnering closely with Product, Security, Sales, Customer Success, Growth, Customer Education, and other Marketing teams. Your job is not simply to announce new features. It is to help administrators understand what has changed, what they can control, how to deploy responsibly, and why expanding access is the right decision for their organization. In this role, you will: Own the IT administrator and governance audience: Build a deep understanding of the needs, decisions, objections, and workflows of workspace administrators, IT leaders, security teams, and enterprise deployment owners. Define the enterprise administration and governance story: Develop clear positioning and messaging across workspace setup, feature enablement, identity and access, roles and permissions, data and connector access, agent controls, auditability, analytics, and spend management. Lead administrator-focused product launches: Shape launch strategy, messaging, and readiness for capabilities that affect administration, deployment, governance, or control across ChatGPT Work and Codex. Make product changes understandable and actionable: Build a predictable administrator communications motion that explains what is changing, who is affected, what decisions or actions are required, and how customers can enable new capabilities responsibly. Create the materials that unblock deployment: Partner with Product, Security, Documentation, and customer-facing teams on practical setup guidance, governance explainers, deployment resources, FAQs, demos, and field enablement. Turn administrator insight into better product decisions: Bring recurring customer objections, implementation barriers, security questions, and adoption patterns back to Product and Engineering to inform priorities and roadmap tradeoffs. Build always-on administrator education and engagement: Develop coordinated programs across customer communications, webinars, peer learning, customer stories, lifecycle campaigns, and relevant in-product experiences. Connect administrative approval to broader adoption: Partner with Growth, Sales, Customer Success, and product marketing peers to move organizations from evaluation and approval to enablement, rollout, and sustained usage. Earn trust through accuracy and customer proof: Clearly distinguish available capabilities from future plans, represent controls and limitations honestly, and develop evidence that helps administrators make the case for responsible expansion. Measure administrator and deployment outcomes: Track the signals that matter, including eligible workspace enablement, time to deployment, adoption of relevant controls, field objections, administrator engagement, and confidence in enterprise readiness. You might thrive in this role if you have: 8+ years of experience in enterprise product marketing or a closely related go-to-market role, ideally across SaaS, cloud platforms, security, identity, infrastructure, or AI products. Demonstrated experience marketing to IT administrators, security stakeholders, technical buyers, or the teams responsible for deploying and governing enterprise software. The ability to understand and explain technical concepts such as identity and access, provisioning, permissions, security controls, audit logs, compliance requirements, data access, and usage or spend management. A strong track record of bringing enterprise product capabilities to market and building the materials, programs, and field guidance that help customers adopt them. Excellent writing and messaging skills, with the ability to make complex product or governance decisions clear without overstating what is available. Experience partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Sales, Customer Success, Customer Education, and Marketing teams. A customer-first approach grounded in research, direct conversations, support and field feedback, and an understanding of what makes enterprise administrators trust or reject a product. Strong analytical instincts and experience connecting marketing efforts to deployment, activation, adoption, or customer confidence rather than content engagement alone. Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where launch timing, product details, and customer needs can change quickly. Genuine interest in responsible AI deployment and the practical work required to help organizations adopt new technology safely and at scale. About the Team Business Marketing at OpenAI helps companies understand, adopt, and realize value from intelligence at work. We believe our own marketing organization should demonstrate what changes when intelligence becomes part of the work: fewer manual handoffs, faster learning, better use of customer and product signals, and more capacity for ambitious thinking. Marketing Technology works across Marketing, go-to-market, Data, Engineering, IT, Security, and Product to define the systems, agents, data, workflows, and operating model that power modern marketing at OpenAI. The team has an opportunity to rethink marketing operations alongside the people building the models, products, and infrastructure shaping the future of AI. About the Role We are hiring a Head of Marketing Operations & Technology to build the most AI-enabled marketing operations organization in the world. You will own the systems, infrastructure, data, and workflows that help Marketing operate with greater intelligence, speed, and impact. You will set the function’s strategy, decide what to build or buy, and develop new capabilities where existing solutions fall short. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, technology, data, and AI. You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Sales, Growth, and Revenue Operations while building a team of technical operators and builders who can turn ambitious ideas into dependable systems. We welcome varied backgrounds—from marketing operations leaders who have expanded the function’s traditional boundaries to founders and builders of AI-native products, growth infrastructure, or internal platforms. What matters most is a deep understanding of marketing, strong technical instincts, and the ambition to imagine a fundamentally better way of working. In this role, you will: Define the vision, strategy, and operating model for Marketing Operations & Technology, including how AI should reshape the function. Build and lead a team spanning marketing operations, systems, automation, data, and technical execution. Own the marketing technology roadmap, deciding what to build, buy, integrate, consolidate, or retire. Establish core infrastructure across customer and account data, identity, segmentation, campaign orchestration, lifecycle management, scoring, attribution, experimentation, measurement, and sales handoffs. Connect product usage, customer engagement, and enterprise buying signals so Marketing and Sales can identify and respond to demand. Build AI-enabled workflows and agents that connect research, strategy, creative development, campaign execution, optimization, and learning. Partner with Engineering, Data, Product, Security, Privacy, and IT to create trustworthy, adaptable systems appropriate for OpenAI’s scale. Improve how teams prioritize work, run campaigns, evaluate performance, and make decisions—measuring success through customer experience, pipeline, speed, experimentation, data quality, and organizational capacity. You might thrive in this role if you: Have 12+ years of experience in marketing operations, marketing technology, growth infrastructure, revenue systems, or an adjacent technical function, including experience building or leading at meaningful scale. Understand CRM, marketing automation, campaign operations, customer data, lifecycle journeys, lead management, account-based marketing, attribution, reporting, and funnel performance. Can engage deeply on APIs, data models, integrations, automation, AI workflows, agents, experimentation, and system architecture. Have strong judgment about when to buy, build, or combine solutions—and have created a product, platform, workflow, company, or operating model that materially changed how people work. Use AI extensively and have firsthand experience building or experimenting with AI-powered tools, workflows, agents, or applications. Can connect product-led adoption signals with B2B marketing and sales motions to drive team and enterprise growth. Can attract and lead technical talent while partnering effectively with engineers and specialists across the company. Bring strong judgment about privacy, security, customer trust, data quality, and human oversight. Are comfortable setting direction amid rapid change and combine a founder’s ambition with the discipline to make complex systems work in practice.
