About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Anthropic is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and scale our Data Warehouse & Streaming Infra team. You'll own the data platform that Anthropic runs on: the foundation every team relies on to understand the business, make decisions, and keep our systems safe. Every org is your customer. As data volumes grow rapidly, and more of it arrives as real-time streams across multiple clouds, you'll help your team make that stack faster, more robust, and ready for what's next, and you'll shape the long-term vision for how data flows through one of the fastest-growing companies ever. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that calls for both deep technical judgment and strong people skills. You'll partner with leaders across finance, data science, product, engineering, and research to uncover and meet their needs, and you'll grow a small, strong core into a large team. We're looking for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, energized by both business and technical impact, and cares deeply about people. Responsibilities Lead, grow, and mentor the Data Warehouse & Streaming Infra team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, engineering excellence, and execution at speed Own Anthropic's data warehousing, streaming, and processing capabilities end-to-end: "wow" user experience, ops, reliability/security/governance/cost, long-term strategic vision Support the team to scale and evolve our data ingestion, event streaming, change data capture, storage, orchestration, compute, query, and reporting systems at pace with business growth Collaborate to define and execute the roadmap for Anthropic's batch and streaming data infrastructure, balancing immediate business needs with durable, scalable design Lead key platform decisions for the streaming backbone, such as managed versus self-operated Kafka, grounded in clear models of throughput, cost, and operational burden Partner closely across Finance, Product, Research, and Engineering to ensure data systems directly support business-critical decisions and company growth Drive hiring for the team — sourcing, evaluating, and closing senior data infrastructure engineers who thrive in high-growth, high-trust environments Establish data quality standards, freshness and delivery SLAs, and operational processes that guide engineers and users through our high-change environment Ensure sound infrastructure investment decisions with clear awareness of cost, capacity, reliability, and long-term maintainability tradeoffs Align the broader Infrastructure org on a common direction for shared platforms, tooling, and best practices across Anthropic's data stack You may be a good fit if you Have 3+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of building and leading high-performing data infrastructure teams Are a people-first leader who gives direct feedback, grows engineers' careers, and builds trust with technical and non-technical partners alike, while staying steady and principled as priorities shift, knowing when to move fast and when to do it right Bring deep, hands-on expertise in both batch and streaming data infrastructure, from warehousing, pipelines, and orchestration to event streaming and change data capture, including the fundamentals of distributed log systems such as partitioning, delivery guarantees, and backpressure Have owned systems with significant business or financial impact, and shipped at speed while improving reliability, scalability, security, and cost Excel at hiring — you've built teams from small to large, and have sharp instincts for identifying exceptional talent Strong candidates may also have experience with Warehouse and batch technologies such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Iceberg, Spark, dbt, or Airflow Streaming and change data capture technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, Flink, or Debezium, ideally including running them at high scale Multi-cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) or multi-region data platforms, including data-residency requirements Data infrastructure at AI or ML-intensive companies: you've served customer teams that build pipelines for financial/billing data, model training, evaluation, or safety workflows Building and operating observability or monitoring for data systems at scale Working in high-growth environments where data infrastructure had to evolve rapidly to keep pace with the business The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. About the role Design at Anthropic sits at the intersection of craft, research, and product intuition. Design systems is a growing team working on products that millions of people use daily, and on interactions that don't have established conventions yet. Our work shapes how people experience AI: whether Claude feels like a tool or a collaborator, whether it earns trust or erodes it. We partner closely with engineers and researchers, often designing around capabilities that are emerging in real time. That means staying close to the models, prototyping rapidly, and being comfortable with ambiguity. We care deeply about the details that make something feel polished, trustworthy and human. We ship fast and learn in the open. We'd rather get something in front of users and iterate than wait for perfection. The Design Systems team exists to define and elevate the language of our UI and core interactions. Every Claude product, from claude.ai to Claude Code, shares one system, including the guidance Claude itself follows when it generates UI. You would be joining an early-stage team, working with design engineers and product designers across the company. You may be a good fit if you: Are as comfortable designing on canvas tools as you are building and prototyping within the product, and prefer to ship in days, not months. Have worked on design systems that balance simplicity with creative flair to produce beautiful products out of the box. Care about the smallest details as much as the big picture, from a pixel to how the whole app fits together. Make the people around you better through sharp, kind feedback and low ego. Get up to speed quickly and can make an impact on projects already in motion. Key responsibilities Design and evolve the system, from foundations (colour, type, spacing, icons, tokens, theming) to components like menus, dialogs, sidebars and the chat composer. Design the expressive layer as a system, not one-offs: motion, illustration and icons that are brand and system at once. Make the system legible to Claude as well as people: the guidance, metadata and evals that show whether Claude uses it correctly. Partner with product teams: help designers and engineers apply the system well, and feed recurring gaps back into the system. Prototype in code and ship: land changes in the design-system package alongside engineers, using Claude Code in your own practice. Minimum qualifications Strong visual and interaction craft. Experience building or working on a design system. Experience with design tokens, theming and accessibility standards. Fluency in whichever tool gets an idea across fastest, from Figma to code. Preferred qualifications Experience building products at the highest level of craft. Has shipped voice or other beyond-the-screen work, with native mobile instincts. Has designed an icon set, illustration style or motion system used across products. Experience defining evals, lint rules or automated checks for UI quality. 8+ years of product design experience. About the role Anthropic is growing quickly, and the transactions we enter into are often unlike anything the accounting literature directly contemplates. We're hiring a senior leader to own accounting policy and technical accounting. In this role, you will be the company's authority on how we account for what we do: usage-based and enterprise revenue arrangements, large compute and infrastructure transactions, complex financing and equity instruments, and M&A and investment activity. You'll build the technical accounting function from a strong foundation into one that operates at public-company grade — establishing the whitepaper and position-memo discipline that lets us take well-supported positions on novel, first-of-kind transactions, defend them with our external auditors (including their national office), and be ready for public-company-grade reporting when the company needs it. This is a high-judgment, high-trust role. You'll work closely with the Controller and CFO organization, Legal, Tax, and deal teams across the company, and you'll often be the first accountant in the room when a new kind of transaction is being designed. Key responsibilities Own the company's accounting policy framework: establish, document, and maintain US GAAP accounting policies across all significant areas, and keep them current as the business and the standards evolve Serve as the lead technical advisor on novel and first-of-kind transactions, including usage-based and enterprise revenue arrangements (ASC 606), large compute and infrastructure commitments, complex financing and equity instruments, and M&A and investments Build and institutionalize a whitepaper and position-memo discipline: rigorous, well-cited technical memos that document the company's accounting conclusions and stand up to auditor and regulator scrutiny Lead technical discussions with our external auditors and SEC, including engagement on complex or unsettled issues, and drive timely resolution of technical matters Prepare the company for public-company-grade external reporting: SEC-style financial statements, disclosures, and the supporting close and reporting processes and controls Monitor, assess, and lead adoption of new FASB standards and SEC rules, including impact assessments, implementation plans, and cross-functional execution Partner with Legal, Tax, FP&A, and business and deal teams early in transaction design, so accounting consequences are understood — and where appropriate, shaped — before deals are signed Advise on equity, financing, and capital-markets transactions, including the accounting for complex instruments and arrangements Lead, and develop a high-caliber technical accounting and accounting policy team as the function scales Support reporting to company leadership and the Audit Committee on significant accounting positions, judgments, and estimates Help design and strengthen controls over complex-area accounting in support of a SOX-ready control environment Represent the company externally where useful, including in comment letters and engagement with standard setters and industry groups Minimum qualifications Active CPA license Public accounting tenure at a top firm that reached at least Director, Managing Director, or Partner — or national office Senior Manager selected into the SEC's Professional Accounting Fellow program Deep US GAAP expertise and strong command of SEC reporting requirements Experience leading a technical accounting and/or accounting policy function at a high-growth technology company Demonstrated ability to research, conclude, and document positions on complex and novel accounting issues, and to defend them with external auditors Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex accounting matters to non-accountants and senior leadership Preferred qualifications 15+ years of combined experience across public accounting and industry Public accounting experience at a senior level, such as Managing Director or Partner, at a well-regarded firm, or comparable experience (for example, having served as an SEC Professional Accounting Fellow) Service at the US Securities and Exchange Commission — in particular, the Office of the Chief Accountant's Professional Accounting Fellow (PAF) program (an approximately two-year fellowship), or comparable senior SEC staff roles such as Associate or Deputy Chief Accountant in the Office of the Chief Accountant or senior roles in the Division of Corporation Finance FASB, EITF, or other standard-setting exposure (task force membership, fellowships, or substantive comment-letter and liaison work) Public speaking on technical accounting topics, such as remarks at the AICPA Conference on Current SEC and PCAOB Developments or similar venues National office experience at a major firm (accounting standards, accounting consultation, or professional practice groups) Experience preparing a private company for public-company-grade reporting The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. About the role Anthropic's consulting and systems integration partners now sell and deliver Claude work at growing volume, and selling alongside partners is working. What matters next is delivery: whether the partner completes the work, whether the customer's Claude usage grows and holds, and whether the outcome is good enough that the customer asks for that partner again. The Partner Success Lead owns that outcome. You will hold a book of in-flight customer engagements across a set of managed partners in EMEA. From the day our Partner Delivery program matches a customer engagement to a partner in your book, you own it to a completed outcome: the work finishes on scope, the customer's Claude usage grows, and a stalled engagement gets diagnosed and unblocked before the customer disengages. You wake up every day on one question: what is each partner in my book doing, and is the work getting done. Key responsibilities: Own every customer engagement in your book from partner match to completed outcome. Know the state of each one every week: scope, timeline, blockers, and the customer's Claude usage trend. Run the weekly delivery review across your book, and bring stalled or at-risk engagements to the weekly at-risk account review with a diagnosis, an owner, and a specific ask rather than a status list. Unblocking. Partner capacity, scope creep, customer readiness, product questions, deal-registration conflicts, and customer dissatisfaction with partner work: get each issue to the right internal team and stay on it through resolution. Own delivery quality and consumption across your book. Track engagements completed on time, time from match to completion, delivered consumption and weekly active use on the customer accounts your partners serve, and the accounts trending toward at-risk. Build senior relationships with each managed partner's practice and delivery leadership. Together with the Partner Account Manager and other Anthropic counterparts, establish the executive-level trust that lets you ask a partner to restaff, escalate, or invest — and be taken seriously — when an engagement needs it. Build each partner's Claude practice as the compounding work: certified bench depth, one repeatable offering in a chosen industry lane, and a published customer story from each completed engagement, so the next engagement needs less from you. Turn what works into methodology. Convert the moves you prove in your book into named, reusable best practices — engagement review packs, unblocking plays, practice-building guides — written clearly enough to be shared at scale across partners, the Partner Success team, and the contract delivery team running the same loop. Run the quarterly practice review with each managed partner's alliance and delivery leads: joint goals on completed customer engagements, customer adoption, certified practitioners, references, and industry positioning. Present and persuade across audiences. Deliver partner executive briefings, practitioner enablement sessions, and internal reviews with equal command — this role is regularly the voice of Partner Success in front of a partner's leadership, a delivery team, a customer, or Anthropic's own leadership. Steward funding requests from partners in your book. Recommend for or against co-investment and program funding requests against a stated outcome, and reconcile against milestones. The bar is outcomes, not consultant hours. Work the handoffs cleanly: from Partner Sales when a partner deal closes, and from the Partner Delivery program when an engagement is matched to a partner in your book. Coordinate with the Partner Account Manager on any strategic partner that has one, with Customer Success Managers on customer-side account health, and with Anthropic's direct sales field on joint accounts. Instrument your book and know its numbers: engagements in flight and completed, stall rate and days to unblock, delivered consumption per partner, certified practitioner counts, and partner health trajectory. Run your book Claude-first. Telemetry drafts the diagnosis; you validate it and act. Claude drafts your review packs, status notes, and escalation briefs; you own the judgment, the exceptions, and the unblocking. Feed what you see in the field back into the packages, playbooks, tier rules, and health rubric the team runs on. Minimum qualifications: Experience owning a high-volume book of concurrent customer engagements, projects, or accounts (roughly 10 to 30 at a time) to completed outcomes, in a partner success, customer success, delivery management, or technical account management role. Ability and appetite to build structure, clarity, and programmatic motions out of in-flight work, while delivering engagement by engagement. You have written something down — a review format, a checklist, a play — that others ran without you, and you want to do more of that; growing that into the operating playbook a wider team runs is the senior end of this role, not the entry bar. This role scales by what you write down, not by added hours. Track record of a number tied to completed work and customer behavior (on-time delivery, adoption, retention, consumption, expansion) rather than contract signature, and an operating rhythm you built to hit it. Judgment on delivery quality: you can review a partner's engagement plan or scope and tell whether it will finish on time and produce usage, and you ask the follow-up question that surfaces the real risk. Escalation and unblocking judgment across a matrix (partner, customer, direct sales, customer success, product): you know which stall belongs to whom, you get help fast, and you stay engaged to resolution. A convincing speaker and presenter to all kinds of audiences: partner executives, delivery practitioners, customers, and internal leadership. You can carry a quarterly practice review, an enablement session, and an executive escalation in the same week and land each one. Deep understanding of how customer success works in a usage-based business; you have held a number tied to customer behavior and can read a consumption trend and act on it. Enough technical fluency to be credible in a delivery review. You do not need to write code, but you can follow a partner architect's walkthrough of a real Claude engagement and ask the substantive second question. Active daily use of Claude or another large language model as part of how you work: preparing reviews, drafting account plans, and analyzing your book. We will ask you to walk us through a recent deliverable. Preferred qualifications: 5 to 8 years working with consulting and systems integration partners, or in delivery-facing customer success at a software company, cloud platform, or partner-led business. Direct experience with systems integrators (global firms such as Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, Infosys, TCS, or Wipro, or regional and boutique firms) and an understanding of how their delivery practices are staffed and run. Experience running at-risk or red account reviews and turning stalled work around. Experience anchoring a surge team: setting the playbook and the review pack that a group of contract or offshore delivery coordinators ran, and holding the quality bar across them. Depth in a specific industry vertical (financial services, healthcare, public sector, retail, or manufacturing) where you have carried a book of partners or customers. Experience stewarding co-investment funding or market development funding against specific outcomes, with formed opinions about what works and what does not. Experience running quarterly business reviews with consulting firm practice leads, and a sense of what makes them productive rather than ceremonial. Experience on a new team where the operating model was being written while you ran the book, and you shipped both. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
