About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Platform Security Engineering (PSE) sits within Data Center Security Engineering (DCSE). As Anthropic expands beyond traditional cloud providers into owned facilities, colocation, and partner sites, we take on the security responsibilities that cloud providers used to abstract away: firmware integrity, boot chain verification, platform trust, and host hardening. PSE exists so that Anthropic can deploy training and inference workloads to any qualified environment with a demonstrable security posture, including the technical controls behind our AI Safety Level commitments. We are hiring an engineering manager to lead a group of platform security engineers covering firmware research, OS and kernel hardening, platform trust integration, and server manageability firmware. You will own the roadmap for this group, grow the team, and be accountable for the security posture of the compute platforms Anthropic runs on: hardware roots of trust, secure and measured boot, attestation, firmware supply chain, and the integrity of the hosts that hold model weights on bare-metal infrastructure. This is a hands-on management role. You will not write most of the code, but you will review designs, make the final call on hard trade-offs, and be able to reason with your engineers from a silicon root of trust through firmware, bootloader, kernel, and host software. You will partner with infrastructure, fleet, and compute teams inside Anthropic, and with silicon vendors, OEMs, and compute providers outside it. You will report to the Data Center Security Engineering manager. Key responsibilities Lead and grow the platform security engineering group: hiring, onboarding, development, performance, and prioritization for full-time engineers, and coordination of contractor and vendor engineers working alongside them Own the platform security roadmap and its delivery: hardware root of trust and attestation, secure and measured boot across CPU, BMC, accelerator, and peripheral firmware, OS and kernel hardening, and the host-side pipeline that turns attestation evidence into production gates Own the firmware supply chain posture for the fleet: SBOM and reference integrity manifests, authenticated update, rollback protection, and the vendor relationships needed to get fixes shipped Drive platform risk assessments for new compute platforms and providers, and make evidence-based go/no-go recommendations with bounded risk rather than perfect-or-nothing gates Partner with infrastructure, fleet, compute, and detection and response teams so that platform controls land in production without degrading training or inference performance Manage relationships with silicon vendors, OEMs, and compute providers: security requirements, vulnerability management, disclosure and remediation timelines, and upstream and standards-body engagement (TCG, OCP, IETF) Run the team's operating rhythm: design reviews, threat models, incident participation for platform-layer issues, and clear written status to security and infrastructure leadership Minimum qualifications Have 10+ years in systems security, with at least 5 years focused on firmware, hardware, or OS-level security Have 5+ years as a people manager of security or systems engineers, including hiring and developing senior and staff-level engineers Can go from architecture to implementation detail with your engineers: secure boot, measured boot, TPM and other roots of trust, attestation protocols (SPDM, DICE, remote attestation), UEFI and BMC firmware, and Linux kernel and OS hardening Have owned a technical roadmap end to end, including the prioritization calls when security, performance, and delivery timelines conflict Have worked directly with silicon vendors, OEMs, or cloud and bare-metal providers on security requirements and remediation, and can push a partner to a fix without burning the relationship Write clearly: design reviews, risk assessments, and status for executives are part of the job Are comfortable building a team and its processes from an early stage, with a scope that is broader than the headcount Preferred qualifications Experience managing a mixed team of full-time engineers, contractors, and vendor engineers while keeping design authority in-house Hands-on background in OpenBMC or other server management firmware, DRTM or secure launch, or confidential computing primitives (TDX, SEV-SNP, ARM CCA) A record of upstream contributions or maintainership in Linux, OpenBMC, or a comparable community, or standing in TCG, UEFI Forum, or OCP Experience securing large-scale HPC or AI training infrastructure Firmware vulnerability research, reverse engineering, or fuzzing background Experience running coordinated vulnerability disclosure with hardware or firmware vendors The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $485,000 — $625,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. About the role: Claude is one of the most-used AI products in the world, and the experience we build for our users directly shapes how people interact with AI every day. We're looking for a talented engineer to join the team that builds the consumer web app — the interfaces, interactions, and moments that turn Claude from a capable model into a product people genuinely enjoy using. This is a product engineering role first and foremost. You'll work closely with designers and product managers to bring features from concept to shipped experience, obsessing over the details that make the difference: how something feels when you first land on it, how smoothly a new interaction flows, how an interface holds up under real-world use. The pace is fast, the product is evolving quickly, and the opportunity to have a visible, direct impact on how millions of people use AI is real. If you love building consumer products and care about getting the details right, this could be a great fit. Responsibilities: Set technical direction for the Claude product and its features Build and ship user-facing features for Claude's web and desktop experience Own the quality bar for how the product looks and feels, treating latency, responsiveness, and reliability as first-class concerns rather than afterthoughts, and advocate for user experience and design considerations early in the process Collaborate tightly with product managers to understand user needs, shape feature scope, and make informed tradeoffs as you build Iterate quickly based on user feedback and internal testing, improving the experience on a continuous basis You may be a good fit if you: Have 5+ years of experience building consumer-facing web products, with a strong emphasis on UI quality and user experience Are proficient in React, Next.js, and TypeScript, and have experience with Node.js on the backend side of the stack Genuinely care about the user experience — not just how something looks, but how fast it loads, how reliably it works, and how it feels across devices. You think about latency and responsiveness the same way you think about design Collaborate well with designers and product managers, and enjoy the iterative process of turning a design into something that works beautifully in the browser Are comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and shipping quickly matters Pick up slack, even if it goes outside your job description Strong candidates may also have experience with: Performance optimization for consumer web apps — profiling, reducing bundle size, improving rendering performance, and understanding where latency comes from end-to-end Designing and implementing responsive layouts that work well across screen sizes and devices Working on products with real-time or streaming interactions (chat interfaces, live updates, etc.) Working in fast-moving consumer product environments Candidates need not have: 100% of the skills needed to perform the job Formal certifications or education credentials The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the Role We are looking for an Incident Response Manager to serve as the operational backbone of how Anthropic handles incidents. When things go wrong, you are the person who makes sure the right people are in the room, the right information is flowing, and nothing falls through the cracks. The right person for this role brings structure and rigor to high-volume, high-stakes situations without waiting for a playbook to be handed to them. You will work across engineering, product, security, legal, go-to-market, and leadership to ensure Anthropic responds to incidents with speed, clarity, and accountability. This is not a role where you follow existing runbooks; it is a role where you write them, and where you operate effectively even when the runbook does not yet exist. Responsibilities Build the incident response management function, establishing the processes, tooling, and operational standards that define how we handle incidents at scale Serve as an on-call incident commander, driving coordinated response across technical and non-technical stakeholders during incidents of varying severity, including managing multiple active incidents simultaneously Engage the right people at the right time, with a strong sense of urgency, bringing order and direction to fast-moving, ambiguous situations Own incident communications end-to-end, from real-time internal coordination to external channels like status pages, direct customer outreach, and stakeholder updates, ensuring they reflect Anthropic's commitments to safety, transparency, and accuracy Participate in blameless incident reviews, contributing operational context and helping drive follow-through on critical remediations so the same class of incident does not recur Partner with engineering teams to develop and maintain incident response policies, procedures, and escalation frameworks that scale with Anthropic's growth Partner with engineering, product, security, legal, and go-to-market teams to continuously improve how the organization detects, responds to, and learns from incidents You May Be a Good Fit If You Have 5+ years of experience in incident management, with direct experience managing technical product or infrastructure incidents (not exclusively security or trust and safety) Have built or significantly shaped an incident response program, ideally at a high-growth startup or in an environment where you had to create structure rather than inherit it Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and urgency, with the ability to operate independently and make sound decisions under pressure without waiting for direction Are comfortable working in unprecedented situations where processes are still being defined and guidance may be incomplete or conflicting, leaving things better than you found them Have a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration, particularly with engineering, security, legal, communications, go-to-market, and executive leadership Bring a blameless, learning-oriented mindset to incident reviews, focused on systemic improvement rather than individual fault Have experience with cloud infrastructure incidents and enough technical depth across the stack to engage meaningfully with engineering teams during response, including comfort navigating distributed systems, monitoring tools, and logs Are analytically minded, with experience using data (incident metrics, queries, trend analysis) to inform decisions during response and to drive operational improvements over time Communicate clearly and calmly under pressure, both in real-time coordination and in post-incident written communications Thrive in high-volume, fast-paced environments and are energized by bringing operational discipline to complex, evolving situations The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $290,000 — $365,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. About the role Anthropic's Inference organization serves Claude to millions of users and enterprise customers with the speed, reliability, and efficiency that frontier AI demands. We build across GPUs, TPUs, and Trainium, and the complexity of our development environment grows with every platform we add. We're looking for a Staff engineer to be the technical lead for Inference Developer Productivity: the team that makes every engineer in the org dramatically more effective at building, testing, and shipping inference software. This is a senior IC role with broad technical ownership. You'll set technical direction for the team's toolchains, workflows, and feedback loops, and you'll be the one making the hard calls on architecture, prioritization, and tradeoffs across heterogeneous accelerator platforms. You'll pair with the team's Engineering Manager, who owns hiring and people development, while you own the technical roadmap and drive the work. You'll also partner closely with Anthropic's central Infrastructure org, where company-wide developer productivity lives, to make sure Inference's multi-accelerator reality is well served without duplicating effort. This role is for someone who has been the technical anchor on a platform or infrastructure team before, who thinks in systems and feedback loops, and who gets real satisfaction from the moment another engineer stops fighting their environment and starts shipping. Key responsibilities Set technical direction for Inference Developer Productivity, owning the architecture and roadmap for toolchains, dev environments, and CI/CD across GPU (CUDA), TPU, and Trainium platforms Be the technical owner of accelerator toolchain management: compilers, drivers, libraries, frameworks, kept current, compatible, and well-tested so Inference engineers focus on model serving instead of environment archaeology Design and build infrastructure for efficient accelerator usage during development, including devbox environments, pre- and post-land validation automation, and shared tooling that reduces the cost of working across heterogeneous hardware Define and instrument productivity metrics for the Inference org, building the dashboards and alerting that surface regressions early (smoke tests red for extended periods, build times creeping up, toolchain breakages) and drive them to resolution Proactively hunt down bottlenecks, toil, and friction across Inference engineering workflows, then design and build the systems that eliminate them Act as the technical counterpart to Anthropic's central Infrastructure org, aligning on shared developer productivity initiatives, contributing Inference-specific requirements, and making the call on build vs. adopt Mentor engineers on the team through design review, code review, and direct collaboration, raising the technical bar without owning headcount Minimum qualifications 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time as the technical lead or anchor on an infrastructure, platform, or developer productivity team Deep background in systems engineering, build/test infrastructure, or ML infrastructure, with the ability to go hands-on with toolchain issues, CI/CD pipelines, and developer workflow optimization Experience owning toolchains or development environments for compute-intensive workloads (ML training or inference, HPC, large-scale distributed systems) Real depth in at least one accelerator ecosystem (CUDA/GPU, TPU, or Trainium/AWS Neuron) and genuine appetite to learn the others A track record of defining and using engineering metrics to drive improvement: you've built dashboards, set SLOs on developer workflows, or led initiatives that measurably improved engineering velocity Experience driving technical alignment across organizational boundaries, advocating for your team's needs while contributing to shared infrastructure Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to influence technical direction without formal authority Preferred qualifications Experience with ML compiler toolchains (XLA, Triton, NeuronX) or accelerator driver/firmware management at scale Background building or running shared development environments (devboxes, remote development, ephemeral environments) for hardware-dependent workflows Experience with CI/CD systems at scale, particularly for workloads involving accelerator hardware Familiarity with Kubernetes-based development and job scheduling environments Prior tech lead experience on a developer productivity or platform engineering team at a fast-growing AI/ML company The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $405,000 — $485,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. About the Role Anthropic is building and securing data center capacity at an unprecedented pace, and the power and cooling equipment that goes into those sites — switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, busway, chillers, CDUs, air handlers, pumps and piping skids — is long-lead, high-value, and unforgiving of defects. A single nonconformance discovered at site can cost weeks of schedule. We're hiring a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to own quality at the source: inside our OEMs' and integrators' factories. You will qualify suppliers, define acceptance criteria, witness factory acceptance tests, drive corrective action to closure, and make sure equipment leaves the factory complete, conforming, documented, and ready to install. You are the person who catches the problem in Ohio before it becomes a problem in Texas. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role on the Compute DC Infrastructure team, partnering daily with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Construction, and Commissioning. It is not a supplier-relationship-management role and not a people-management role — the emphasis is technical quality engineering at manufacturing facilities. What You'll Do Supplier qualification and readiness Lead quality qualification of new and existing suppliers of power and cooling equipment, including on-site process audits, capability assessments, and manufacturing readiness reviews (MRRs) ahead of production release. Translate Anthropic engineering specifications into supplier-facing quality requirements: inspection and test plans (ITPs), acceptance criteria, witness/hold points, and documentation deliverables. Partner with Strategic Sourcing to embed quality requirements, Supplier Quality Agreements, and FAT/documentation expectations into RFPs and contracts. Factory acceptance and in-process quality Plan, witness, and sign off factory acceptance tests (FATs) for electrical gear (switchgear, UPS, transformers, gensets, busway, PDUs) and mechanical systems (chillers, CDUs, CRAH/fan walls, dry coolers, pumps, piping skids), including functional, performance, and integrated-system testing. Conduct in-process and pre-shipment inspections at supplier facilities; verify build-to-print conformance, workmanship, labeling, and traceability. Review and approve supplier test reports, quality data packages, and turnover documentation; ensure equipment ships complete and installation-ready. Nonconformance and corrective action Own the nonconformance (NCR) and deviation process for factory-found issues; lead containment, disposition, and root-cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, and fault-tree methods. Drive supplier corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to verified closure with measurable, sustained improvement. Investigate field-reported defects that trace back to manufacturing, and feed lessons learned into supplier requirements, ITPs, and future RFPs. Metrics and continuous improvement Define and track supplier quality KPIs — first-pass FAT yield, defect rate, NCR aging, on-time documentation, supplier scorecards — and report them in quarterly supplier business reviews. Apply SPC and statistical analysis to supplier process data to identify systemic risk before it reaches a FAT. Help build the quality framework for a rapidly scaling, multi-supplier, multi-region equipment pipeline — templates, checklists, audit standards, and the operating rhythm around them. Who You Are 6–10+ years of quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or supplier quality experience in electrical or mechanical equipment manufacturing, mission-critical infrastructure, or a comparable regulated/high-consequence industry. Hands-on experience with at least one side of the data center equipment stack — medium/low-voltage switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, busway, or chillers, CDUs, air handlers, pumps — and the curiosity to come up to speed fast on the other. Proven record planning and witnessing FATs and conducting supplier audits, with the judgment to know when to hold a shipment and when to accept with deviation. Deep fluency in structured problem-solving and quality tools: 8D, RCA, FMEA, SPC, control plans, PPAP or equivalent. Able to read electrical one-lines, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings and check a build against them. Strong technical writing — you produce ITPs, audit reports, and NCR packages that stand on their own. Comfortable operating with high autonomy and ambiguity, and communicating clearly to engineers, suppliers, and leadership. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience. Nice to Have Experience with hyperscale or AI data center equipment supply chains, or with OFCI (owner-furnished, contractor-installed) delivery models. Familiarity with liquid-cooling systems (CDUs, manifolds, quick disconnects) and the cleanliness, pressure, and leak-test regimes they require. Working knowledge of relevant standards: UL 891/1558/1778, IEEE C37, NEMA, AHRI 550/590, ASHRAE 90.4, ASME B31.x, ISO 9001 auditing. ASQ CQE/CQA, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or lead-auditor certification. Experience standing up a supplier quality function or QMS from a small base. Proficiency with QMS/ERP platforms and data tools (SQL, Power BI, or similar). Logistics Location: [San Francisco / hybrid — or remote US with hub access?] Travel: [40–60%] to supplier and integrator factories across the US and [internationally], with occasional visits to active construction sites. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the Role: We’re looking for a Renewals Leader to build and scale the function that protects and grows Anthropic’s recurring and committed revenue. This role owns renewals strategy, execution, and forecasting — ensuring we deliver exceptional customer outcomes while sustaining durable, predictable revenue as our enterprise base scales. Anthropic operates on a consumption-based model, which makes this fundamentally different from a traditional renewals role. Your team won’t simply be renewing contracts on a fixed cycle — they’ll be managing customer commitments in step with real usage, catching consumption risk early, and converting healthy adoption into expanded commitments. You’ll build the playbooks, the forecasting rigor, and the early-warning systems that make retention a strength rather than a scramble. You’ll lead and develop a team of Renewals Managers, partner closely with Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, and Customer Success, and serve as a trusted commercial voice in front of strategic customers. This is a builder’s role: you’ll be one of the first dedicated leaders for this function, so the processes, culture, and standards you set become the template. What you'll do: Build and lead the renewals team. Hire, develop, and retain a team of Renewals Managers. Define how the function covers the customer base, set the performance bar, and create a culture of accountability and customer-centricity. Own the renewal number. Own renewal bookings, gross and net retention, on-time renewal metrics, forecast accuracy, and renewal pipeline health. Identify risk early and implement mitigation strategies to reduce churn and contraction. Define the operating model. Establish scalable renewal playbooks, stage definitions, qualification criteria, and operational rigor — adapted for the realities of consumption-based revenue rather than fixed contract cycles. Forecast with rigor. Drive accurate weekly and monthly renewal forecasting and reporting that leadership can plan against, grounded in usage data and customer health signals. Drive expansion at renewal. Partner with Sales and Customer Success to convert adoption depth into expanded commitments, and lead executive-level renewal conversations for strategic accounts where required. Collaborate across the GTM organization. Work with Sales on territory and account strategy, with Deal Desk and Finance on pricing, terms, and approvals, and with Strategy & Operations on forecasting and field alignment. Lead with an AI-first mindset. Use data, automation, and tooling — including Claude — to optimize renewal processes, monitor KPIs, and continuously raise the bar on performance. You may be a good fit if you have: 8–12+ years of experience in SaaS, PaaS, or consumption-led businesses, with significant exposure to renewals, retention, sales, or customer success 3–5+ years of people management experience leading renewals, retention, or commercial teams A proven track record of owning and exceeding renewal and retention targets in complex, enterprise deal cycles Excellent forecasting and pipeline management skills, with a reliable, evidence-based approach to calling the number Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders — Sales, Finance, Deal Desk, and Customer Success — at all levels A strong analytical mindset and comfort using data to drive decisions Strong candidates may also have: Direct experience with consumption-based or usage-based pricing models, and the unique retention dynamics they create Background in data, AI, cloud, or developer-platform businesses Experience building a renewals or retention function from the ground up, including playbooks, forecasting cadence, and team structure Experience operating across multiple regions and markets Passion for AI and alignment with Anthropic's mission of beneficial AI development The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
